In this video I would like to talk about how often in the day we take consciousness breaks or a break from unconsciousness. The way most of us live our life, we are 85% – 90% of the day unconscious.
We are just following our routine doing one thing after another in an automated fashion. The result of living like this is we end up going through a lot of unconscious negative emotions. Sometimes even without knowing about it. Sometimes we wonder why are we getting angry so often, why am I feeling low. But many of us do not even know we are going through that because we haven’t experienced a different way of living or we haven’t lived from a different dimension other than unconsciousness.
So if we start working on a habit of taking consciousness breaks, consciousness breaks in nothing be but being conscious of yourself and practicing self awareness. The minute you start practicing self awareness you immediately stop unconsciousness. Because you are very much conscious about your self, you are conscious about the way you are breathing, you are conscious about where you are and you are also conscious of who you are.

So why is it so important to live from this dimension of consciousness. We can think of it this way… We have a glass filled with life energy during the day which keeps us going. And everything we start to think unconsciously, or create anger, worry or fear within our self we are spilling that energy and emptying the glass.
The moment we are composed, stable, calm, peaceful, in joy or happiness we are refilling that glass of life energy. So how do you want to live your life with an empty glass or a glass filled with life energy throughout the day.
So this habit of inviting consciousness during the day is of utmost importance, so that we keep a watch on this glass. We consciously fill it up with life energy. It is this calmness and silence that self awareness makes us aware of, which is required to have a stable mind. A stable mind will help you make the right decisions in your life.
When your mind is not influenced by the trends of society or what people have to say about you or it is not attached to an image you are trying to defend among people. It is this kind of a mind that is detached from all the nonsense we accumulate during the course of our life.
A mind that is free from the influence of these attachments is a mind that will help you take the decisions which are from your true self. Decisions whose result will be joy, happiness, peacefulness. Decisions where you get your beingness involved.
And all you have to do is start working on the habit of inviting consciousness in your daily life. By practicing it when you are walking, by practicing it when you are among people, when you are shopping, when you are at work.
Bringing it in when you are into activity, when you are doing something. Be aware of your self, bring in the self awareness it is such an easy practice. Easy to do, it is not tough to do you do not need to go through any kind of training. You can start right away. By just practicing it you can change your entire way of looking at life.
The way you are perceiving life right now could be very negative because of your unconscious negative commentary that is going on within. It’s not that you are born as a negative person, a bad person or a wrong thinker, it’s just that our routine…. the way we live our life, the information we expose ourselves to makes our perspective negative.
Example the newspaper.. which mostly everybody loves to read. It is the accumulation of all the conflict that happened during the past day. They put it down nicely with pictures and everything, 80 to 90% of the newspaper is about conflict and all the wrong doings of everybody. Everything that is going wrong in life.
Maybe there will be page within that will talk about positive food for our mind. All the remaining is junk food, stuff that really nobody can do anything about. It only creates more fear and more doubt, the way we look at our neighbors and the way we look at our colleagues at work. It just gives us ideas of how we can think negatively about people.
All the tv serials that we watch, most of them have this negative outlook because negativity sells. Nobody is interested is what is going right.. Everybody want to know what is going wrong and how we can correct it. And in the process of correcting the wrong we forget being right, forget about living right.
So lets check our glass of life energy on a daily basis, on an hourly basis by being self aware, by keeping a close watch on it. What have I spent the past half hour or one hour doing? just be conscious, practice self awareness. Even conscious breathing can help you fill up this glass of life energy.
So lets take this one small little step which can change our entire life, which can change the way we deal with people because when our glass is filled we are fresh, we are open, we are inviting life, we are inviting consciousness, we are open to circumstances because the approach we will take to any circumstance will be with openness. We will be open to peoples comments and look at them with the right perspective.
We have to keep a close watch on this glass which is filled with life energy and the more we bring in consciousness the more we will be assured we will be living life in the right way.
