Self Fulfillment & Approval the Key to Happiness

In this video I would like to speak about how easy it is for us to be happy without the approval of others. Basically we get into this mode of constantly needing the approval of others to get happiness. This could happen in our personal life and even in our workplace (corporate) life.

So why is it that we get into this habit of depending on peoples approval to be happy.

It starts from a small age when we do well in our exams or do something at home to help around we get compliments, we get praise from our parents, we get praise from our teachers when we do well in class or we complete our homework.

Slowly it becomes a belief system that we need the approval of others to know if we have done it right or when we get the approval of others we get happy that we have completed a task successfully.

But if we turn this around and really understand self approval… if you keep track about what you are doing, if you keep track of your progress on a daily basis that itself can give you immense happiness that you are moving forward in life.

For example lets take the work place. You are alloted a certain amount of work and every time you complete a job you are waiting for praise or you are waiting for positive feedback about your effort from your boss or senior colleagues and once you don’t get that you think that you are not good enough or they did not like the way you have done the work.

But this is not really true, the thing is they have many other things they may be focused upon and once they reviewed your work they did not find it necessary to compliment you or praise you. But it is because of the belief system that is deeply embedded within us that causes this kind of uncertainty and unhappiness at that moment.

But now if you keep track of what you are doing during the day on a small little book or some kind of computer application, and once you complete a particular task you let your boss know but simultaneously you create happiness that you have completed your task successfully to the best of your ability.

One you start thinking and approaching your day in this fashion, slowly you are no longer dependent on peoples approval to be happy. It is a very self sustaining activity to track your progress to know that you are moving forward, to know that you are capable enough to complete your tasks and maybe treat your self after you have completed a project or whatever work in assigned to you.

You can also do this with your tasks at home, cleaning the place up, you can divide your work for your entire week or whatever plan you have and then feel happy as you finish the tasks one by one.

Self fulfillment is the easiest way to feel happy and all you have to do is bring in consciousness to track your progress and keep your focus on what you have to do, what you have to complete during the day and in the background you have this stableness of being aware of your true self as you engage in activity.

The practice of being aware of your true self will help you detach from these patterns of depending on people for approval. Your happiness will no longer be dependent on people’s approval.

Even at the gym you workout at, you can track your progress you can know that you are moving ahead and when we complete stuff when there is some kind of achievement theres always a little happiness that comes with it. Even though it is limited happiness that does not last for very long, even then any kind of happiness in welcome in our life.

You can also bring in happiness or feel happy if you allot some free time to just be by yourself. You will bring happiness in your life and also introduce others to self happiness.
